We have some catching up to do!

Well, I made it through the first year of Elliott's life without neglecting the blog... then as soon as he turned one, life somehow got so busy that I haven't had time to post anything for like three weeks, or something crazy like that. Silly me, I thought the FIRST year was the craziest and then things would slow down. (I can hear all of you moms out there with older kids laughing at that ridiculous line of thinking). Things are still crazy as ever, but I am working hard to get things back under control... and I'm starting with getting the weekly blog back on track!

So let's catch up on all of the exciting things Elliott's been up to for the past few weeks. The first week in April, Nana and Grandpa came up from Baltimore over Nana's spring break from school. Elliott had lots of fun showing them his toys, taking them to his favorite playground, and sampling french toast for the first time -- a new favorite!

The next week, Grammi brought over a belated birthday present for Elliott (she searched high and low to find it!), an awesome car! He loves to ride all around town in it. People smile and wave at him from their cars as we cruise down the sidewalk, and Elliott proudly honks the horn.

We all went to the Cape for Easter. Auntie Jess tried to take a picture of all the kids together, but Elliott was not having it. Don't all the other kids look cute, while my son is making a scene??

He was, however, very interested in tasting my super spicy bloody mary. Made his dad so proud.

This past weekend, Dana took me on a surprise trip to Bermuda for my 30th birthday. (Yes, he wins husband of the year award.) Elliott stayed with Grammi and Papa, and had a wonderful time as always. Jess even managed to get a picture of all the kids together without Elliott having a meltdown!

Dana and I had a blast in Bermuda. There's nothing like warm sun on your face, soft sand on your feet, a yummy drink or two, and sleeping in every morning to help revive you after a long winter. We NEEDED this trip. And it was perfect.

The trip was just what I needed to get my life back on track and, like I said, I'm starting with the blog... Now if I could just start exercising every day, cooking dinner every night, cleaning that pile of laundry from the bedroom floor... you can see why I decided to start with the blog.
