Happy New Year!

Sorry I'm so delinquent with the post this week. Here's a recap of what you've missed. After our adventure to Baltimore for Christmas, we decided to go for a low key New Year's Eve. Grammi and Papa came over so Papa could work on our new bookcases and Elliott got some fun playtime with Grammi. Somehow Elliott seems to have a LOT more toys since Chanukkah and Christmas. He doesn't know what to play with first!

Elliott stayed up to hang out with the adults for a little while in the evening, before he headed up to bed and we sat down for dinner.
We tried to capture that elusive family photo... we are yet to take a really good picture of the three of us together. This is as close as we got on NYE. Elliott doesn't look so comfy, and neither does Dana (maybe because he has two people piled on his lap, who knows).
This one had potential, but Elliott was distracted by the flowers on my shirt. We'll keep trying!

It was a quiet night -- our friend Taylor stopped by for a while, we had a yummy dinner with Craig and Linda, and we were in bed by midnight. Guess we're getting old.
On Saturday night, our friends Andy and Alicia came over for dinner. After Elliott went to bed the dogs were in heaven because Andy gave them lots of attention. Poor doggies. They used to be the main attraction, but Elliott has definitely taken the spotlight these days.
Yes, these days we can sit and watch Elliott do the most mundane things -- play with a toy, clap his hands, eat -- and find it endlessly entertaining. Case in point, this video of him playing with his empty bowl that perhaps no one but me will find even mildly amusing. But, it makes me smile.
